The Water testing report must be obtained from an FSSAI recognized and NABL accredited laboratory. Also, it is essential that the sampling is carried out by the laboratory and the report must contain the details of the date of sampling and the person carrying out the sampling.

FSSAI mandatory for packaged

Food regulator FSSAI on Friday made it mandatory for manufacturers of packaged drinking water and mineral water to take BIS certification for obtaining license or registration from the authority.

Also, as per the new modifications by FSSAI, the drinking water can be derived from various sources like local water supply, surface water, underground water, sea or any other reliable source of water.
